Golf and Taste Celebration Raises Funds for Chaska Hospice Home!

Ridgeview Foundation’s 24th Annual Golf and Taste Celebration, held June 22 at Island View Golf Club, was once again a resounding success—and once again so much more than just a day of golf!

The event raised more than $385,000 for the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska. Scheduled to open later this year, the hospice home is the region’s first Medicare-certified hospice residence offering general and inpatient care. For over a decade, Ridgeview has provided hospice care services to more than 1,300 community members. In the new Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home, funded 100 percent through philanthropy, patients have another option for end-of-life care in this comforting, home-like setting.

As always, the day-long Golf & Taste Celebration included golf and bridge tournaments; the Taste of the Ridgeview Region featuring hors d’ oeuvres and beverages from area restaurants and merchants; a full-course buffet dinner; silent and live auctions and an abundance of raffle prizes. The success of the event is always made possible by enthusiastic volunteers, benevolent businesses and committed community members who team up to make a difference in the health and well-being of the Ridgeview service area. This year's event sponsors included Mega Sponsor CorVal Group, Inc., and Master Sponsor Medallion Cabinetry. An unbelievable number of volunteers once again handled every aspect of the 2009 event—from running the beverage carts or contest holes to selling raffle tickets or setting tables for dinner.

Ridgeview Foundation promotes philanthropy and builds relationships to support Ridgeview Medical Center’s mission to make a positive difference in the quality of life and health for the west-suburban communities served. A volunteer board of directors, whose members represent communities throughout Ridgeview’s service region, guides the Foundation.
