Ridgeview recognized as 2022 five-star hospital, nursing home by CMS

CMS Five Star Rated

Ridgeview was recently recognized as a five-star hospital by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Its Nursing & Rehab Center in Le Sueur was also recognized as a five-star nursing home by CMS. CMS assigns star ratings to hospitals nationwide based on their performance of more than 100 measures across five quality categories—mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience and timely & effective care. The star ratings for nursing homes are based on their performance in three quality categories: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.

“It is an honor to receive these five-star ratings from CMS. Ridgeview is proud of its commitment to the health and safety of our patients and the communities we serve. Our Mission of ‘enhancing the lifelong health of the people we serve’ is the reason we exist,” said Mike Phelps, president and CEO, Ridgeview. “I am extremely proud of our colleagues and their dedication to providing the best health care in Minnesota.”

CMS developed its ‘Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings’ program to help consumers make informed health care decisions by giving them a way to compare hospitals based on quality ratings. Hospitals receive between one and five stars, with five stars being the highest rating. Ridgeview was among just 13 Minnesota hospitals and 429 nationwide to receive the five-star Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating for 2022.
