Ridgeview names Matthew Herold, MD, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer
Matthew Herold, MD, has accepted the position of Vice President & Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Ridgeview.
A board-certified practicing physician in Ridgeview’s Emergency Departments since 2005, Dr. Herold also serves as vice president of his physician practice – Emergency Physicians & Consultants, P.A. – and medical director of Ridgeview’s Emergency Services. Since 2020, Dr. Herold has served as vice president of Medical Affairs (VPMA) and has been instrumental in helping to guide Ridgeview through the COVID-19 pandemic and implement significant clinical care strategies.
To leverage Dr. Herold’s perspective and experience as a physician leader in the new Chief Medical Officer role, he will have broader influence on Ridgeview’s clinical quality initiatives, patient safety and experience, strategic growth, and physician and advanced practice provider workflow and best practices. Dr. Herold will also serve as a liaison between Ridgeview Administration and all medical staff members to continue advance relationships and clinical excellence across the system to achieve Ridgeview’s mission and vision.

Dr. Herold received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.
