How You Can Make a Difference
Volunteers at Ridgeview are people of various ages and in different stages of their lives. The minimum age is 16 years old (age 18 in some areas). All of our volunteers share one common value: service to others. Some individuals serve as part of their retirement activities or as a way to give back to the community, while others want to gain exposure to the health care environment.
While our general and youth volunteer opportunities are temporarily unavailable for new applicants, volunteers at Ridgeview donate their time and talents in a variety of areas, including:
Administrative Support
Ridgeview has a broad range of opportunities to accommodate different life stages, interests and schedules. Volunteers participate in many different opportunities throughout Ridgeview and the hospice program. They are an indispensable part of Ridgeview’s team.
We have designed positions that enhance customer service and support a variety of departments at Ridgeview. These volunteers provide clerical support and work on special projects.
Patient Care Services
Within inpatient and outpatient settings, volunteers work alongside Ridgeview staff to enhance the health care experience.
Customer Services
These volunteers provide information, directions, transport service and more to Ridgeview patients and visitors. They also staff the Gift Shop on the Waconia Campus.
Hospice
Specialized training prepares these volunteers, so they can offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
