Laura Jacobs, PT, DPT

Laura Jacobs is a Physical Therapist with special interest and experience in neurological rehabilitation as well as a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy. She graduated from Cornell College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomechanics and obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Minnesota. Laura received her specialty training at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs where she completed a Neurological Physical Therapy Residency. As part of her residency, she spent time with numerous neurological specialists, including polytrauma traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, and vestibular and balance disorders. Her clinical experience includes pediatrics, acute inpatient rehab, outpatient, and various neurological specialty clinics. Additional experiences include use of neurological rehabilitation technologies, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and providing enrichment to accredited DPT programs through assistance in laboratory and classroom settings. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Neurological Section and has served as a Board of Directors on the APTA MN. Her clinical special interests include disorders of balance and gait. She currently works in both in-patient and out-patient care settings as well as a Clinical Services Specialist for a Minnesota-based medical device company that focuses on technologies to help improve balance, mobility, and confidence.
