24/7 Emergency Care
Ridgeview provides exceptional emergency care and ambulance services. Emergency Department services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at Ridgeview’s hospital campuses in Arlington, Le Sueur, Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska and in Waconia.
Ridgeview’s Emergency Departments are supported by on-site diagnostic imaging, dedicated trauma bays, helicopter pads, and surgical and critical-care specialists. Emergency Department staff includes physicians, certified physician assistants and nurses — all with specialized emergency credentials.
Ridgeview Ambulance provides emergency medical services to suburban and rural areas, which includes all of Carver County and portions of Hennepin, Le Sueur, McLeod, Nicollet, Scott, Sibley and Wright counties — covering a service area of approximately 950 square miles.
Stroke-Ready Hospitals
All Ridgeview Campuses are designated as Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals (ASRH) by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). This means that if a patient comes to the Emergency Department with concerning symptoms, virtually all resources are focused on that one patient.
According to the MDH, stroke is the sixth leading cause of death and one of the leading causes of disability in Minnesota. Every second counts when a patient is experiencing a stroke, making it vital for communities to have an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital.
Among other criteria, the ASRH designation requires an Acute Stroke Team be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The MDH partners with the American Heart Association, hospitals, emergency medical service agencies and others to implement this coordinated system of care for Minnesotans.
Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (Waconia Campus)
Ridgeview’s Waconia Campus is certified by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) as a Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) recipient. This accreditation recognizes emergency departments that provide excellent care for older adults. Since 2021, the Waconia Campus Emergency Department has held the Level 3 GEDA and was the first health system in Minnesota to achieve this accreditation.
