What to Expect During Your Procedure
When you arrive at Ridgeview Endoscopy, a nurse will perform a brief health assessment, record your vital signs, pulse and temperature, and start an IV.
Before the procedure, you will be taken from the observation area to a procedure room. You will be given a sedative to make you feel relaxed and sleepy. Because of the sedation, you will likely not remember much of the procedure.
When your procedure is completed, you will return to the observation area for at least 30 minutes. When you rest, a nurse will monitor your blood pressure, pulse and general condition.
Your driver will be required to be present at discharge time. If your driver plans to leave Ridgeview Endoscopy during the appointment time, they should remain within 15 minutes of the procedure location.
Before you leave you will receive detailed discharge instructions. Please plan on being here for two to three hours from check-in to discharge.
