COVID-19 symptoms:

COVID-19 symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Possible symptoms may include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

What to do if you test positive for COVID-19:

  • Stay home and distance yourself from others for at least five days. (Day 0 is the day of symptom onset)
  • Rest, drink fluids and use over-the-counter medicines for fever.
  • Wash your hands often using soap, water and friction for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your cough and sneezes.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect surfaces in your home.
  • Wear a high-quality mask or respirator when around other people.

What to do if you are exposed to COVID-19:

  • Wear a mask as soon as you become aware you were exposed, for up to 10 days after exposure (Day 0 is the day of your last exposure).
  • Avoid going places where you are unable to wear a mask.
  • Monitor for symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, shortness of breath).
  • Take extra precautions if you will be around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19.
  • Get tested at least five full days after your last exposure.
