Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Developed and operated in collaboration with Children's Minnesota, Ridgeview’s enhanced Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) expands its care for the most fragile of infants, as young as 30 weeks gestational age. We offer the high-quality, family-centered care patients have come to expect from Ridgeview and Children’s Minnesota — in a setting close to home.
Take a Virtual Tour of Ridgeview's NICU
Most newborns won't need extra care, but if they do, the services and expertise of our specially-trained team is here. Ridgeview's NICU team includes:
- Daily presence by neonatologists from Children’s Minnesota.
- Ridgeview’s highly-regarded nursing staff and Children’s Minnesota neonatal nurse practitioners, who provide 24/7 on-site support.
- Specialized care and support for infants provided by Ridgeview’s lactation specialists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, rehabilitation staff and more.
The enhanced Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) features seven private rooms with the capability to care for up to 13 infants at a time. The unit includes a family lounge with a private consultation area, computer with internet access, kitchenette and sitting area.
Live Cribside Video Streaming
It's difficult for parents to be separated from a newborn with extra health concerns that require specialized care in the NICU. To bring comfort to families, cribside NicView® cameras provide live video streaming on a smartphone, tablet or any device with internet connection. NicView® allows families to see their infant in real-time through a secure, online portal. This service means parents can bond with their new baby, even when they can't be together.
