Pediatric Hospital Care
Ridgeview cares for the whole family — beginning with neonatal care and providing medical and surgical services, primary care, urgent and emergency care as your child grows.
Pediatric Limited-Stay Unit
The Ridgeview Waconia Campus hospital includes a Pediatric Limited-Stay Unit — providing care to pediatric patients from birth through 17 years of age. Typical patient stays range from a few hours to a few days.
Patients requiring a nasal cannula (nasal tube for extra oxygen) can be admitted to the unit, as well as those with any of the following diagnosis:
- Acute gastroenteritis
- Asthma
- Bronchiolitis
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Croup
- Fever
- Influenza and viral respiratory illness
- Skin and soft tissue infection
- Urinary tract infection
The unit is a secure four-bed, locked area tailored to meet the unique needs of pediatric patients.
Pediatric patients are admitted primarily through Ridgeview’s Emergency Departments or your Ridgeview surgeon.
