Ridgeview Rehab Staff with Patient On Treadmill

Medical Wellness Programming

At Ridgeview Rehab, exercise is medicine. Are you ready to make an impact and restore your health? We all know we need exercise, but how much and what kind? This question becomes even more complicated if you are managing a chronic condition. No matter your condition, we are here to provide the expert guidance you need to begin and succeed in your journey.

“If exercise could be packed in a pill, it would be the single most widely prescribed and beneficial medicine in the nation.” - Robert N. Butler, MD, former director, National Institute on Aging

Our goal is to bridge the gap between health care and fitness by supporting our patients and clients in managing their health risk and achieving their personal wellness goals. Our medically-trained staff of licensed athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, physical therapists and sports performance specialists are experts in the mechanics of the human body and it’s response to physical activity. They have extensive education in exercise science and physiology and experience working with patients in varying levels of wellness.

Medical fitness: Multiple packages available from a one-time consultation visit to weekly packages. Meet with a member of our staff for an exercise assessment and personalized fitness plan based on your medical history and goals. Whether you have been diagnosed with a joint injury, diabetes, heart issues, cancer or some other medical challenge, our team is qualified to help you.

Sports performance: Our sports performance specialists work with teams and individuals to maximize performance in sport through strength, speed, agility, and plyometric training. We are skilled in understanding the demands of each sport and are able to individualize training to enhance the athlete’s performance and prevent injury. Progress is carefully monitored with pre- and post-testing measures.

Medical therapeutic yoga (MTY): Can help relieve the symptoms of certain medical conditions like chronic pain, fibromyalgia, back pain, neck pain or cancer. MTY guides you through breathing and movement practices that are designed to help reduce and manage persistent pain or other symptoms. Classes are led by licensed physical therapists who specialize in movement and pain science.

Pilates reformer: Popular Reformer equipment allows you to work your entire body very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength and flexibility. Reformer training is offered by licensed physical therapists who are certified in Pilates instruction.

Metabolic testing and training: Better understand you current fitness level and the impact that exercise and improving your lean muscle has on health and weight management. Body composition analysis is offered using our InBody unit and a personalized fitness programming is provided based on your current goals and abilities.

Injury aftercare: We can help you transition from physical therapy to more advanced functional and sport-specific skills for a safe return to participation after an injury or surgery. Sessions are led by a licensed athletic trainer who specializes in functional movement patterns and injury prevention.

Treatment of an injury, illness or condition often involves much more than medical, surgical and prescription drug intervention. The best outcomes may also require individualized rehabilitation therapies or wellness programming to increase mobility, reduce pain, prevent future injury or improve your general well-being.
