38th Annual Ridgeview Golf & Taste Celebration raises more than $1 million
Proceeds benefit new mental health services at Ridgeview
Waconia, Minn.— June 30, 2023 – The community gathered to celebrate Ridgeview Foundation’s 38th Annual Golf & Taste Celebration on Monday, June 26 at Island View Golf Course in Waconia. The event raised just over $1 million.
Nearly 600 golfers, employees, volunteers, community members and guests took part in an array of activities including a Coffee Cup Shotgun golf tournament in the morning and the Founder’s Cup golf tournament in the afternoon. Golfers were entertained by the annual “Grip It & Rip It” board and a variety of contests on the course, including hole-in-one, longest putt, closest to the pin and timed hole contest.
The event continued into the evening with the Taste of the Ridgeview Region, in which the public sampled food and beverages from area restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries. Fox 9 Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard served as event emcee for the day, including the live auction, in which attendees bid on a prize package that included joining Leonard on TV as “Weatherman for a Day.”
New this year was a revamped evening celebration, which featured a community concert by the Johnny Holm Band.
Proceeds from the event will benefit phase one of the Cause for the Community campaign, a multi-year initiative to enhance nearly every area within the Ridgeview system. The fundraising goals of phase two of this campaign include creating robust mental health services at Ridgeview. Watch patient and provider stories at ridgeviewfoundation.org.
“This event continues to be a favorite among our community, and throughout the past 38 years, we’ve raised close to $16 million for critical programs and services,” said Kelly Mulleady, Executive Director of Ridgeview Foundation. “Philanthropy is critical to Ridgeview’s success, and we are humbled by the generosity of our community and their shared goal of helping us keep health care close to home.”
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal has named the Ridgeview Golf & Taste Celebration one of the most successful golf charity events in the Twin Cities.
